Latex masks are created with Rd-407, which is the latex mask industry standard for making fabulous, life like product. These masks are tough and tear resistant as well as being based around a natural rubber compound. Rd-407 is the best quality latex that is available.
The natural latex is normally placed in a plaster cast because of the porous properties of plaster. As the latex is decanted into plaster, the plaster takes the water from the latex which then cures the latex, providing you with a thin skin finish. Silicone molds can also be used in the production process, however the results are not usually as good because they simply don’t have the same curing characteristics.
