Greetings, fellow Navi army and great news bestows us this fine day. The all time highest-grossing movie os all time… The one and only, James Cameron’s Avatar is being re-released today, the 27th August in the UK and the US, right now, as we speak. Whilst many cite his reasons as purely financial and this may well prove to be the case, I for am not really worried about that. In fact, Mr Cameron has already been quoted as saying “I know that we left some money on the table” Although he is stated as saying that becasue there were so many cinmas showing other blockbuster movies at the time, there was simply not enough cinemas to show Avatar. Fair enough and who am I to argue with such a mammoth movie producing genious?

As all serious Avatar fans agree, we are delighted to get some extra footage (six minutes in total) which is available on DVD as well as on the big screen. There are currently no plans to show Avatar in 3D although blue ray will definately be available.

The additional screen time has been dedicated to both action sequences and also one of the “emotional” scenes. In one cut, the Navi are seen to counter attack the invading enemy in an intensely powerful scene and there’s also a hunting scene where the multi legged direhorse is used in the chase.

The forest creature known as the Stingbat makes an appearance which is another one of Pandora’s forest dwelling marvels I am looking forward to checking out. There’s apparently some added spice to the Jake and Neytiri sex scene and we see a lot more of the Strumbeest (the animal which is a cross between a Triceratops and Buffalo) although I am fairly sure it’s not in the same scene.

Until next time Navi fans.
